Why We Built This

Most financial calculators are either too simple to be useful or buried inside brokerage platforms that require an account. We wanted something different: a fast, free, public tool that any investor could use to project their dividend income honestly — with live data, real compounding math, and no strings attached.

DRIP investing — the practice of automatically reinvesting dividends to buy more shares — is one of the most reliable wealth-building strategies available to individual investors. But it's hard to visualize. How much will 500 shares of SCHD actually pay next year? In five years? In twenty? Those are the questions My DRIP Plan is built to answer.

What the Calculator Does

Enter any ticker symbol and your share count. The calculator pulls live price and dividend data, then computes your projected monthly, quarterly, and annual income. The multi-year tab shows how your income and portfolio value grow over time as dividends compound — each payout buying new shares, which generate their own payouts.

The Fill My Calendar feature helps investors identify which months their portfolio leaves uncovered and surfaces dividend stocks and ETFs that pay in those gap months — so you can build a steady income stream across all twelve months of the year.

The Compare tab lets you run two tickers side by side — useful when deciding between similar holdings like JEPI vs. JEPQ, or SCHD vs. VYM.

Who Is This For

My DRIP Plan is built for long-term, income-focused investors — people building dividend portfolios in IRAs, taxable brokerage accounts, or both. It's especially useful for anyone holding or considering high-yield covered call ETFs (JEPI, JEPQ, QYLD, SPYI, QQQI), broad dividend ETFs (SCHD, VYM, DVY), REITs (O, MAIN, STAG), or individual dividend-paying stocks.

You don't need to be a finance expert. If you know your ticker and your share count, the calculator does the rest.

Data Sources

Live stock price and dividend data is sourced from Finnhub, a financial data provider used by institutional and retail tools alike. For tickers where live data isn't available, the calculator falls back to a curated internal database of 100+ popular dividend stocks and ETFs maintained by our team. All data should be verified with your brokerage before making investment decisions.
